Chairman of the Senate’s Jordanian-French Friendship Committee, Issa Haidar Murad, noted importance of Jordan’s entry into the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), whose member countries are achieving “high” economic growth.<\/p>\n
During his participation in session on “Economic and Commercial Relations between Jordan and Middle East and Francophone Countries,” Murad said Jordan today needs to launch new economic and trade partnerships to help overcome its hardships.<\/p>\n
Murad added that African countries that are members of COMESA agreement are achieving “remarkable” economic growth rates, which requires Jordan to seize priviliges provided to beneficiary nations, especially since they are a large consumer market.<\/p>\n
He pointed to importance of the agreements that open new business horizons, enhance trade exchange and increase exports.<\/p>\n
Lauding “distinguished” Jordanian-French relations, especially in the economic area, he added that the Senate’s ad hoc committees are “keen” to develop the Kingdom’s economic relations with various countries and build bridges of cooperation to serve the national economy.<\/p>\n
Jordan’s exports to European countries increased “significantly” during the last period, he said, describing this growth as a “good indicator,” which reflects that the Kingdom’s exports returned to their pre-Covid-19 levels.<\/p>\n
Murad also noted conferences are “key” platforms to exchange information and highlight’s Jordan’s available opportunities and bring together businesspeople to establish joint projects.<\/p>\n
Jordan, he said, launched “strong and important” industries in the pharmaceutical sectors that have investments outside the Kingdom, especially Algeria, in addition to the foodstuff, plastic, electronic and medical industries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
