On Nov. 27th 2013 The Jordanian – Egyptian Business Councils convened its 17th round of meetings in Cairo , co chaired by HE Mr. Hamdi Tabba’a, chairman of JBA and Mr. Hussein Sabbour, chairman of Egypt Businessmen Association( EBA). The meeting was attended by HE Mr. Bisher Al Khasawneh, Jordan’s Ambassador to Egypt and Mr. Hussam Al Dine Al Hudhud, and Eng. Awni Al Saket , JBA board members and several JBA and EBA members representing the different sectors of the economy . The visit included a meeting with HE Mr. Muneer Abdel Nour , Egypt Minister of Industry & Foreign Trade in his office at the Ministry . The meeting with his Excellency concentrated on the ways & means to boost the economic relations between the private sector in both countries especially trade & investments, HE Mr. Tabba’a presented to the Minister a memorandum in which he expressed the point of view of the business community in Jordan regarding the future prospects for cooperation between the two countries and also presented the obstacles facing the development of economic relations . HE the Minister promised to raise the subject to the concerned authorities and decided to form a technical committee from the Jordan- Egypt Business Council and technical experts from both sides to prepare a report on the obstacles facing the economic relations and recommendations to overcome such obstacles . The Business Council meeting was opened by a speech by Mr. Tabba’a in which he reviewed the latest economic developments in Jordan and the investment incentives present for investors and he also reviewed the bilateral relations between both countries . Mr. Sabbour also gave a briefing on the current developments in the economy in Egypt and the investment opportunities present . the meeting agenda included a speech by HE The Jordanian Ambassador and working papers by experts in the fields of transport & pharmaceutical . the meetings were concluded by bilateral meetings between the Jordanian businessmen delegation and their Egyptian counterparts .
