The Senate Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, chaired by Senator Farouq Al-Hiyari, visited the Jordanian Businessmen’s Association on Wednesday.
Senator Al-Hiyari stated that the committee’s visit to the association aimed to enhance cooperation and communication with private sector institutions, including the businessmen’s association, to foster a favorable investment climate that enables the private sector to play its role in sustainable economic development and strengthen the energy and mineral resources sector.
He emphasized that the committee’s agenda aims to examine the most important issues and challenges facing the private sector related to the energy and mineral resources sector from the perspective of businessmen, in line with the initiatives, programs, and projects stemming from the executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision and the development of the sector’s legislative structure.
He praised the association’s pivotal role in organizing and facilitating the work of the private sector in achieving the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision.
In turn, Ayman Alawneh, a member of the Association’s Board of Directors, presented, in the presence of the Association’s Director General, Tariq Hijazi, and the Association’s members, the most prominent topics reflecting the private sector’s vision for the energy sector and the challenges it faces.
He pointed out that the meeting was held to discuss the most prominent plans developed to achieve the goals of the Royal Committee for Economic Modernization in the energy and mineral resources sectors. He also highlighted the vital role of the mineral resources sector and its contribution to economic growth, providing job opportunities for citizens, and meeting market needs for raw materials. He also reviewed the most prominent priorities and projects related to the energy and minerals sector.
