Jordanian Businessmen Association discuss closer economic ties with Azerbaijan

Director General of Jordanian Businessmen Association Tariq Hijazi discussed with Azerbaijani Ambassador Eldar Salimov prospects of cementing economic ties and cooperation between the business communities in the two countries.
Hijazi stressed the importance of expanding the scope of joint investments, and benefiting from the promising opportunities the two countries have in the many promising sectors.
He spoke about the JBA’s role in promoting the business and investment environment in the Kingdom through the joint business councils and increasing cooperation with the various countries in trade and economic fields.
For his part, Salimov stressed the importance of finding new scopes of cooperation in the near future to enhance the level of bilateral trade and achieve the common economic benefits.
The ambassador pointed out that Jordanian-Azerbaijan relations are constantly growing, noting that royal visits in the past years had led to the signing of many agreements in the economic, trade and cultural fields.
He stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and expanding and diversifying the base of goods exchanged between the two countries, which contributes to improving the trade volume, noting that the Azerbaijan private sector is interested in investment in Jordan.
The meeting was attended by Samir Salihouf, the third secretary at the Embassy. And the two sides discussed holding the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Economic and Investment Forum in April of this year.
