President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA), Hamdi Tabbaa, met on Wednesday with Rwandan Ambassador to Jordan, James Ngango, to explore the establishment of a Jordanian-Rwandan Business Council aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
According to a JBA statement, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the private sectors of both countries and identifying opportunities to boost trade and investment, particularly in key sectors of mutual interest.
Tabbaa highlighted the importance of forging strategic partnerships between Jordanian and Rwandan business leaders. He called for organizing reciprocal economic delegations to showcase investment prospects in the Kingdom, especially in agriculture, tourism, and pharmaceuticals, and to facilitate communication between the business communities in both nations. Such efforts, he said, would help promote the exchange of expertise and expand avenues for cooperation.
Ngango welcomed the proposal to establish a joint business council, expressing Rwanda’s interest in deepening economic collaboration with Jordan. He underscored the importance of encouraging investors from both countries to explore available opportunities.
He noted that Jordan offers an attractive investment climate with a range of incentives, while Rwanda also provides a favorable environment and multiple facilities for foreign investors. He stressed the need to increase the volume of trade and to develop frameworks that support bilateral cooperation.
Trade between Jordan and Rwanda reached approximately $3.4 million in 2023, up from $2.4 million in 2022.
