On March 16th ,2016, JBA received the World Bank mission to Jordan headed by Ms. Gerlin Catangui . The meeting was attended by JBA Board members: Mr. Yussri Tahboub,and Mr. Hussam Al Hudhud. And JBA Director General Tariq Hijazi . The meeting concentrated on the investment and business climate in Jordan HE Mr. Hamdi Tabba’a JBA Chairman presented the business community view point regarding this matter especially the income tax law, he submitted to the World Bank team , a study prepared by JBA about the tax regime in Jordan , the study recommended that the whole Kingdom of Jordan to be transformed into one development zone thus reducing the tax distortions present in the current system . He also expressed the business community’s concern regarding the electricity tariff which negatively affected the competitiveness of the Jordanian economy . Ms. Gerlin Catangui praised the role of JBA in lobbying for the interest of the Jordanian economy and the private sector in Jordan , she also expressed interest in the tax system study and the remarks regarding the income e tax law and the economic developments in Jordan .
