Mr. Abdel Halim Abdin , JBA secretary General received on Mon. 9/3/2015 the delegation representing Business Connect of Australia headed by Mr. Ray Najjar. Mr. Abdin reviewed to the guests JBA role in the economic development of Jordan and its wide relations with counterpart associations around the world , he also briefed them on the current economic situation and the economic relations between Jordan & Australia , he also reviewed the prospects of cooperation between the private sector in both countries in all sectors of the economy and the cooperation and investment opportunities present for the Australian investors. On his part Mr Najjar expressed the interest of the Australian companies in investing in Jordan and expanding the trade relations beyond the existing scope of transactions and briefed the participants on the services of Business Connect and presented a message from HE Mr.Martin Hamilton Smith , the Minister of Commerce in South Australia . The delegation represented 16 Australian companies in the fields of agribusiness , food processing , seeds and cereals, livestock &meat, fertilizers, waste recycling, fences, and bakery machines. Ms. Suzan Lamshed presented the companies businesses and interests . It is worth mentioning that Jordan exports $16 mill of fertilizers and potash to Australia and imports $220 mill of Australian livestock , meat , wheat and rice . Following the presentations the Jordanian businessmen held bilateral meetings with the Australian counterparts.
