The Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZ) discussed with a delegation from Azerbaijan’s Alat Free Economic Zone (FEZ), opportunities for networking the two sides according to the two countries competitive priviliges.
At the joint meeting organized by JBA on Wednesday, with FEZ delegation headed by its Deputy Chairman Ismayil S. Manafov, FEZ’s key investment opportunities and its incentives were reviewed, in the information and communication technology (ICT), pharmaceutical and food industries sectors and the possibilities of networking between the two countries’ investors.
During the meeting, which was attended by Azerbaijani ambassador to Jordan, Ildar Salimov, JBA board of directors member, Yousri Tahboub, said the Kingdom has established a diverse number of free and development zones that contribute positively to attracting foreign investments, generating new job opportunities, strengthening export sector, and providing various forms of logistical services to investors.
This lucrative environment contributes to developing investment environment and supporting competitiveness of the local sector, he Tahboub.
Jordan, he said, has many competitive advantages that provide attractive factors for investments, especially open Jordanian economy to trade and the Kingdom’s many free trade agreements at the Arab and international levels.
Both countries enjoy many investment opportunities in the promising economic sectors, which require launching more strategic partnerships between both sides’ business communities, he noted.
He referred to multiple “promising” investment and trade opportunities between the two countries in sectors of medical care, therapeutic tourism, agriculture, food and pharmaceutical industries.
For his part, the envoy lauded JBA’s efforts and its role in strengthening economic relations with his country, adding that this Azerbaijani delegation is the second to visit Jordan, in cooperation with JBA.
Jordan and Azerbaijan have “historic” relations , which represent basis for developing their trade exchanges, he said, adding that the two countries have a variety of cooperation agreements in various fields and levels, the diplomat said.
He also voiced interest of the Azerbaijani side in strengthening trade relations with Jordan, noting multiple attractive economic and investment opportunities that represent a wide field of cooperation between the two sides.
