Amman, Nov. 11 (Petra) – Indian Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar on Thursday visited the Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA) and praised the economic ties between the two countries and keenness to boost them.
During the visit, attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Investment Affairs Jawad Anani and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Yousef Mansour, the visiting Indian official said that ties between the two countries are witnessing a turning point. The two countries, he added, see eye-to-eye on various issues, mainly terrorism which is a global threat.
Anani spoke about the available investment opportunities between the two countries, noting that Jordan is interested in benefiting from the Indian expertise in IT, industry and cinema production.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the JBA Hamdi Al tabba spoke about the association’s goals and objectives, noting that the main objective of the association was to create and maintain a business climate that would enable the private sector to accomplish its role in the sustainable economic and business development in Jordan.
JBA, he said, received many business delegations and took the initiative to organize a business mission to New Delhi in 2006.
