7th conference of Jordanian businessmen abroad opens Tuesday

The Seventh Conference of Jordanian Investors and Businessmen Abroad will open on Tuesday under the title “Development and Building Partners”.

The conference is organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Businesspeople Association of Jordanian Expatriates (BAJE) in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry and the Jordan Investment Commission.

JBA Chairman Hamdi Tabbaa said in a statement on Monday that the conference, which will be attended by about 250 businessmen, aims at maintaining communication between Jordanian businessmen inside and outside the Kingdom and keeping them up to date with economic developments and achievements.

He spoke of the need to pool resources and intensify all efforts to overcome challenges and turn them into real opportunities with an impact on the national economy, which required that Jordanian expatriates and businessmen abroad invest at home with high value and job-generating projects.

The conference will tackle a host of issues, foremost of which is the investment climate in the Kingdom, to familiarize expatriates with the investment climate and business opportunities as well as incentives offered to Jordanian investors and political, economic and monetary stability in the Kingdom despite the geopolitcal challenges.

The gathering will also highlight the Kingdom’s comprehensive reform process and the key aspects of growth stimulation plans that had been laid within a royal vision to achieve the state of productivity and self-reliance.

The conference will see the launch of “My Country a Priority” initiative by the BAJE with the aim of attracting Jordanian capital abroad, the statement added.

BAJE Chairman Fadi Majali said in a statement that Jordanians’ investments abroad are estimated at $7.2 billion, which created thousands of job opportunities.
