HE Mr. Anil Trigunat , the Ambassador of India visited FAB& JBA on Wed. Oct. 15th 2014 . The visit aimed to discussing the 4th Arab- India Partnership Conference . that will take place in New Delhi during 26-27 Nov. 2014, co-organized by The Arab League , FAB , The Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (FICCI) and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs . HE Mr. Tabba’a briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments concerning the Conference , The Federation of Arab Businessmen hosted the 1st preparatory meeting for the Conference during the period 23- 24 June 2014 at its premises in Amman . The Ambassador praised the role of FAB in co- operating with the Arab League for the enhancement of Arab relations with friendly countries and India in specific as FAB participates actively in the preparation for the series of such conferences . He said that India is a historic and major trade partner to Arab Countries with trade exchanges reaching to almost $200 bill in 2013. HE pledged to provide all necessary assistance and facilities from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the success of the Conference. The Conference theme to be” New Horizons for Cooperation in Trade, Investments and Services” and they also agreed on the sectors and sub sectors to be covered in the working sessions as follows: Investment & Manufacturing ,Energy , Food Security and Agricultural Development , Services and Human Resources Development. HE pledged the Jordanian businessmen to participate in this conference and HE FAB Chairman explained that FAB &JBA already sent the invitation s for JBA& FAB members . He explained that India is a major market for Jordan’s phosphate & fertilizers , the volume of trade reached $1.6 bill last year and there are many Indian investment project in Jordan such as the fertilizers plant with capital investment of $570 mill. It is worth mentioning that JBA signed a cooperation agreement with ICC in 2006.
The meeting was attended by HE Mr. Thabet Al Taher ,FAB Secretary General, Mr. Abdel Halim Abdin , JBA Secretary General and JBA Director General Mr. Tariq Hijazi .
